Asian bloggers met in Siem Reap

More than a hundred bloggers from Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Philippines, and Vietnam, attended BlogFest Asia in Siem Reap on November 1st to 5th 2012 to mark “the change through technology” in Asian community.

During the 4-day BlogFest there were many sessions that participants could take part in and learn from each other, especially with key Asian bloggers, and mainly to build up networks. The discussion led by keynote speakers covered different topics including Internet power, Internet security and freedom of expression, information, and the media in Southeast Asia.

“As the ASEAN community grows closer and we aim to realize our dream of integration by the year 2015, BlogFest serves as a platform to bring regional bloggers closer to bridge and bind the ASEAN community together by fostering an exchange of ideas” Said Kounila Keo, a co-organizer of BlogFest.Asia 2012. The BlogFest Asia 2012 is taken place to “inspire new generation of Asian bloggers to pursue their blogging passion” Keo added.

Lomor Pich, a student from Department of Media and Communication says, “As a young blogger, I think such event is very useful. Blog promotes the freedom of expression and culture of sharing.”

 “I will share what I have learnt today to my friends through social media such as Facebook, twitter and blog.” Bun Chamroeun, Business owner The Road.
