Everyone is busy. That’s why we don’t even have time to sit down to enjoy sipping a cup of coffee. Instead we just order a cup on the go so we can just drink our cappuccino while driving. Hardcore time management (ticking down details in your planner down to the exact second) can be a chore so some people would just prefer to take note of the tasks that need to be done.
Meetings, appointments, interviews, and project planning eat up most of your day and you even make phone calls during lunch. That’s just busy you allowed yourself to be. Yes, work is indeed top priority and we’re not telling you to stop what you’re doing. But we do have a brilliant idea how you can make your busy day more productive and just a little bit less stressful.
We can handle a lot of work but it becomes stressful when you start getting confused what to accomplish first. One technique to help you do so is the checklist. No matter how good you are in what you do, having a checklist of what to do just saves a lot of time, energy and effort. It’s just that it’s easier to work when you have a checklist which you can consult with. Erase every task accomplished until you reach the end and see how you’re capable of finishing your work earlier that when you were just winging it.
The good thing abut jotting down a schedule is that you can even give yourself a vacation. When you think you have a whole week to work on the things you have to do, taking tasks as they come, you are likely to work every weekday because everyday seems a busy day. But if you know exactly what you need to accomplish and assign these tasks on specific dates, then you might actually discover you can give yourself a long weekend.
